Introducing our Latest Villas
Posted on Monday 9th November 2020 by Crete Escapes
2020 has been a year most of us would rather forget. At times it’s seemed as if there is no escape from a news cycle dominated by one tragic story.
For most of us, that was literally the case, with families across the country forced to forgo their annual holidays abroad.
While the Coronavius pandemic is a long way from over, here at Crete Escapes we’re making a conscious decision to look forward, to a time where we can head back to our favourite island.
Winter has long inspired holidaymakers to begin planning their next getaway. As the nights draw in and a chill takes hold, it’s only natural to fantasise of warmer climes, complete with sun, sea and sand a plenty. Even more so this Christmas…
As we turn our attentions to a New Year and what we hope will be a new start, we’re pleased to announce the arrival of three new villas, each as stunning as the last.
Let’s take a closer look at where you could be spending that long-awaited holiday.
The first of our new properties is Villa Iona, a literal Crete escape worthy of our Premier Villa status.
As you’d expect of a premium listing, Iona is fitted with all key amenities and is designed in such a way as to maximise some quite spectacular views.
A traditional stone archway is at the heart of the property and leads into an open plan living area which itself gives way to panoramic views. The surrounding white mountains and countryside promise to take your breath way.
Extensive, well maintained gardens – consisting of shrubs as well as lemon and olive trees - flank a private pool in which you can spend hours.
A shepherd’s hut (complete with WC, washbasin and larder fridge) has also been converted to allow guests maximum convenience when outside sunning and swimming – uppermost on any To Do List.
Located on a large, landscaped plot, Villa Iona brings with it a feeling of glorious isolation. If, however you wish to sample some local delights, Plaka village itself is just a 15-minute walk away. Similarly, the sun-kissed sands of Almyrida beach can be reached within a short drive.
This delightful holiday home is already attracting great interest and for good reason. It’s the perfect place to spend a well-earned holiday.
Not too far from Villa Iona lies Villa Daymer, an equally desirable 4-bedroom property in its own right mainly due to its great location.
A spacious build within easy reach of tavernas and mini markets, it allows visitors to enjoy the full Cretan experience.
Equipped with all essential amenities, Daymer’s defining feature is the attractive, individually colour themed bedrooms. Outside, spacious gardens and terraces surround the private pool with enough sunbeds and umbrellas to allow everyone to spread out, creating an idyllic setting in which to spend several lazy hours.
Local attractions – including Almyrida beach – can be reached by foot in just 10 minutes, removing the need for hire cars.
A sizeable balcony with panoramic sea views, spanning the entire length of the property, also lends itself to evening drinks by starlight.
Memories can be made in this, a dream-like setting.
The last of our three new listings is the beautiful Villa K, a picturesque property nestled amid the Cretan countryside.
Sleeping up to seven, it makes for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful environment.
Privacy is afforded by a garden extending to both sides of the villa and enclosing a quite magnificent pool and adjacent large dining area with a BBQ.
The building itself spans 100m2 and includes a spacious, well-furnished lounge, along with a modern fully equipped kitchen.
Not far away is the local village of Neo Chorio with a simple shop and taverna or go that bit further to the neighbouring and larger vibrant village of Armeni. Its popular tavernas attract visitors from far and wide.
Day trips to Kalives can also be built into any itinerary, given the seaside resort is a mere 5km drive.
Villa K is a pretty garden plot that will lure visitors back time and again.
These latest additions mean our villas now total 40, all of them special yet totally unique. Combined they promise some much-needed escapism in 2021, something we all deserve.
