It’s getting to the time of year in which the majority of us will have had our holidays, with many of them now seeming like a distant memory. As autumn sets in however, it’s the ideal time to start thinking about booking your first holiday of the new year.
Those who have travelled more than others will already know the benefits of booking a holiday well in advance, but for those looking for an excuse to dig out the passports again and book their next adventure, take a look these reasons why you should be doing just that!
1. Take advantage of Low-Cost Flights
Booking your flights early not only means you’ll be able to get seats on the best-timed flights, it also means you can take advantage of lower costs and early booking discounts - meaning you’ll get more for your money.
Many flights to Crete for example, are already cost effective but booking early allows you to take advantage of the best deals! Both Ryanair and EasyJet have recently released their Chania flight schedule for 2019, so take a look, choose a date, and get booking!
Booking early also means you’ll have more time to pay for your holiday. Most accommodation suppliers will allow you to secure your booking with a small upfront payment. Here at Crete Escapes you can secure your dream villa with just a 10% deposit!
2. You’ll Have The Pick Of The Bunch
Booking your sunshine getaway not only means you’ll have your pick of flights, you’ll also have a great selection of places to stay. Villas and the like get booked up quickly during the new year so make sure you get your dream escape by booking early.

3. Planning Makes Perfect
Having more time to plan your holiday makes it all the more perfect. It means you can avoid the mad rush during the days prior to your much-needed break and start winding down so when the day comes, you feel relaxed and ready for a break.
Planning in advance also means you’ll have more time to size-up your chosen location and identify things you would like to do during your holiday.
Quite often, planning in advance means you are more likely to see more of your holiday location so you can make more memories and absorb as much as possible of the local heritage and atmosphere. You’ll also be able to plan logistics to a finer level and better understand things like local public transport, where to get the best food, and what to pack.

4. Have Something To Look Forward To
Booking in advance also means you can make the most of pre-holiday excitement! Having a sunshine holiday to look forward to during the coming winter months will be just what you need to keep you going.
Creating a bucket list of beaches to visit, restaurants to eat at, and attractions to see is a great way to feed that pre-holiday buzz - as is showing your family and friends pictures of the adventure you’re yet to have! (Warning – may induce feelings of jealousy)!
5. Travelling During The School Holidays
As you can imagine, the few months of the year that the little ones have off are often booked up well in advance. With the likes of young families wanting to get away during the summer months and even during the Easter Holidays and May Half Term, booking in advance pays - and if you want to avoid disappointed faces we highly recommend booking early!
The benefits of booking your getaway in advance greatly outweigh the stress induced as part of booking last minute and will make your holiday all the more enjoyable.
