Villa Maquis is a brand new, contemporary, fully air-conditioned 4 bed (all en-suite) villa providing stylish and luxurious accommodation for the discerning holidaymaker. Built on a large, private and gated plot near to the Greek village of Vamos, this very impressive hilltop villa boasts glorious sea, mountain and countryside views from all its surrounding terraces and balconies.

Inclusive to all, this villa is wheelchair friendly with external access to a lower ground floor suite and an internal elevator, ensuring all of the interior is within reach.
This fabulous accommodation is designed over 3 floors with the living/kitchen area opening to the sparkling saltwater infinity pool, large covered seating area and an outdoor kitchen and BBQ where guests can dine whilst enjoying the spectacular sunsets for which this area is renowned.
Lower Ground Floor / Basement area
Accessible from both the outside and inside, is a light and airy suite comprising of a superking bed, beside tables and lamps, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, dressing table and mirror. There is a large walk-in shower and handbasin positioned to one side of the room with a separate wc adjacent. Large doors open on to a private terrace which leads to the swimming pool, outside sitting and dining areas and also the newly planted garden.
For those wanting to burn off excess calories, a fitness suite with cardiovascular and yoga equipment is located on this floor together with a cloakroom (handbasin and wc); conveniently positioned for those spending time outdoors. A laundry room featuring a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board completes the facilities on this level.
Through the front entrance you discover a warm and inviting interior with a magnificent hallway taking centre stage. The wooden, open tread staircase leading to the first floor is decorated with modern lighting and colourful bespoke artwork designed and painted by the villa owners. Similar pieces can also be seen throughout the villa. The elevator is positioned in the hallway for guest's convenience.
The beautiful living/kitchen/dining area is located on this floor. As you enter this space you cannot miss the huge floor to ceiling doors and windows which frame the picturesque surroundings giving added wow factor to an already spectacular residence. The living area is furnished with large, comfortable sofas positioned in an L-shape around a coffee table and facing the media wall with a 65 inch LED TV and woodfire. The whole space is decorated in hues of off white which blend perfectly with the exposed stone and wooden furnishings creating a cozy atmosphere.
A well appointed kitchen (see amenities list) off to one side with its large centre island provides both functionality and style, catering to the needs of modern living.
There is another en-suite bedroom on this floor with a superking bed (can be split into twin beds, if preferred) and furnished in a similar way to the other bedrooms with access to its own private terrace. The en-suite bathroom has a large walk-in shower, handbasin and wc.
The master suite and 4th bedroom are positioned on this floor.
Both decorated and furnished in a similar style to the other bedrooms. The master suite is very spacious with a superking bed and has a large en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, wc and dual handbasins. There is also a sitting area, small desk and TV. This luxury suite offers incredible views of the White Mountains and the magnificent sea views from the wrap around private terrace where guests can also sunbathe if peace and quiet is desired.
The 4th en-suite bedroom also has a superking bed (can be split into twin beds, if preferred), amply furnished to a high standard and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, handbasin and wc.
The impressive saltwater infinity swimming pool blends seemlessly with the crystal clear blue sea beyond. The pool is a good length and depth; superb for the serious swimmer and for those who prefer to simply cool off and relax, the roman steps at the shallow end provide the perfect opportunity.
During the hot summer days the covered pergola adjacent to the swimming pool provides an abundance of shade and the perfect spot for reading, chatting or taking a well deserved nap.
The outdoor kitchen comprises of a large gas BBQ and sink so the cook can prepare wonderful meals using local produce whilst the rest of the group socialise around the large covered dining table soaking in all those wonderful views which are never far away.
The extensive garden is mainly left to its natural state and contains many olive trees and natural stone formation. Some parts of the garden are newly planted with shrubs and flowers typical of the local area and Crete.
The villa is very peacefully located, the only sound being of sheep bells or the cicadas in the distance. In an evening, enjoy a sundowner from the many vantage points to the glorious Souda Bay, the wonderful White Mountains and the sparkling lights of the nearby villages; an experience never to be forgotten.
The internet is provided by a satellite system which allows unlimited downloads.

Prices quoted are in gbp sterling, per week, for up to 8 people occupying the villa and are not per person. The villa can sleep up to 9 with 1 infant using a cot placed in one of the bedrooms.
Alternative length of stays of more than 7 nights are accepted and are charged pro rata.
Prices include air- conditioning, a welcome basket with local produce, all linen/towels including pool towels, maid service with linen/towel change.

Low Occupancy Discounts
A low occupancy discount for single couples (use of 1 bedroom), of 15%, is available at this villa for all dates falling during June only.
Not allowed on late availability or special offer prices.
If you are a returning client and this is your 3rd (or more) consecutive booking with Crete Escapes or your 2nd separate booking in one season, you will qualify for our loyalty discount. Please quote voucher code LOYALTY2.5 when asked to do so during the online booking process or let us know when you contact us. Your reduction of 2.5% will then be deducted from the total price.
Short breaks are normally only available for a minimum of 5 nights and will be charged at the 7 nightly rate unless otherwise advertised. However, if the number of available days between existing bookings is less than 7 nights we may be able to accept bookings at a reduced rate subject to the owners agreement.
Short breaks are allowed within 3 days of arrival.
Change-over days are totally flexible but are subject to existing bookings taken either side. If a booking means that the owner would be left with too many "void" days we might not be able to accept it. If this is the case we will contact you without delay to discuss alternatives.
Payment can be made by bank transfer to our sterling account or by debit or credit card (Mastercard or Visa) only.

Please note: although the calendars show live availability and you can book on-line, please note that your booking is not confirmed until we have issued a confirmation of booking. You may prefer not to book your flights until we have confirmed the booking.
Low occupancy discounts - unfortunately the online booking system automatically calculates the single couple or small party discount based on the number of people entered onto the booking form and the start day of your rental. There are 2 problems with this:-
a) If you are 2 people but not a single couple, or 3 or 4 people but not 2 + 1 or 2 + 2, the system will have automatically calculated a discount when it is not due. Please make use of the "additional notes" box on the booking form to tell us and we will adjust the price accordingly before we confirm your booking.
b) If your rental overlaps from a discounted period to a non-discounted one (or vice versa), the discount calculated will be wrong. In these cases we have to make the adjustment manually. You can still book on-line but we will need to change the price on receipt of your booking request. If the price increases we will contact you to confirm the new price before we confirm your booking and take your deposit.
Please don't let either of these issues put you off making a booking. The discounts are genuine and our villa owners welcome couples and smaller parties out of high season. We just can't fine tune the booking system to account for these 2 circumstances - sorry.
