As featured on C4's "A Place In The Sun" in October 2018.
Villa Troodos is superby located only a few minutes stroll from the charming village of Kokkino Horio with its taverna, cafe and well-stocked shop. The villa is well equipped, traditional in styling and furnishings and boasts a private pool set in a very private, mature garden. To the front there are glorious views of Souda Bay. The lovely sandy beach and waterfront tavernas in the popular resort of Almyrida are only a few minutes drive away. The villa sleeps up to 4 guests in one double and one twin bedroom (each with their own private shower room) making it an ideal choice for a small family or 2 couples holidaying together.
The gated parking area can accommodate several cars and is surrounded by a lovely mature garden planted with colourful bougainvillea.
Upper Ground Floor/Living Area
From the car parking area steps lead up to the front door which opens into the dual aspect open plan kitchen/diner and lounge area painted in traditional Greek blue and white. The vaulted ceiling enhances the light and airy feel of this space. In the lounge there are two sofas providing ample seating for relaxing with the TV/DVD for your entertainment. A wood burner in the corner is one of the focal points in the lounge. Patio doors open out onto a covered balcony furnished with a table and 4 chairs; a wonderful, secluded place to sit and take in the breathtaking sea views and sunsets for which this area is renowned.
The good sized, well equipped kitchen benefits from a window and door leading to the rear balcony overlooking the pool terrace and a view to the mountains and countryside beyond. This clever layout provides easy access between the kitchen and the rear outside dining area with a table and chairs.
A separate small utility area under the stairs houses the freezer.
Bedrooms (Ground and First Floor)
To one side of the living area are two sets of stairs leading to the two bedrooms, each one with its own private shower room. One bedroom and shower room is a few steps up from the open plan living area and the other one is a few steps down.
Tiled steps lead down to the ground floor master shower room and the master double bedroom which has doors opening to the front capturing those lovely sea views.
A set of open wooden stairs*** leads up to the first floor twin bedroom with its sloping beamed ceiling, adjacent to the second shower room.
Both air-conditioned bedrooms are comfortably furnished with built-in wardrobes and drawers, bedside shelving and a mirror.
Each shower room has a walk in shower, hand basin and wc.
To the rear of the villa is a very private, colourful, mature garden where you will find the large, tiled pool, a shaded barbeque area and plenty of seating around a stone table where guests can enjoy al fresco dining in this pretty setting.
The large pool is easily accessed by roman steps and has generous terracing furnished with sun loungers, parasols and a couple of small tables.
The walled garden surrounding the plot has traditional arched gates and walkways with an abundance of well established, colourful Cretan plants and flowers.

Beautiful villa, so clean with everything we needed for a really relaxing holiday. Local tavernas very friendly with good, authentic cuisine. George at the mini-market is a real star! Will definitely be back - June 2019.
This villa has recently been added to our website for the 2019 season so more reviews will be added as soon as we receive them.
Crete is the most southerly Greek island with an agreeable climate. The tourist season usually starts around April and lasts until the end of October. The spring (April) is a good time to visit for hiking and to see the beautiful flowers.
In early summer (May and June) the temperatures will be climbing steadily to an average in the mid 20's. This is a good time to visit if you don't have to keep to school holiday dates as the climate is very pleasant and there are few crowds.
July and August are the busiest (and hottest) months with tourists from all over Europe choosing Crete for their holiday destination. The north westerly winds usually moderate the temperatures but it's best to make sure your holiday accommodation offers shelter from the hot sun. It goes without saying that the sea will be warm.
September is still high season with warm, sunny days and the sea is still warm. The season draws to a close in October but this is a perfect month for visiting the island as the sea is still warm for swimming and activities such as hiking and visiting the archaeological sites can be undertaken in pleasant temperatures.
