At the end of a quiet lane and track, on the edge of the village of Kokkino Chorio, stands the beautiful Villa Hibiscus with its amazing views of the sea and mountains. This is surely one of the best locations near to this popular village as it offers peace and privacy with the local tavernas and shop no more than 15 minutes walk from the villa. The villa stands to the back of the large plot leaving plenty of space to the front of the villa and around the fabulous pool. The villa has been superbly planned to provide accommodation that is relaxing and easy to use.
A large covered terrace extends across most of the ground floor, a great place for al fresco dining out of the sun or for evening drinks watching the sun dip down over the horizon. Internally, the ground floor is extremely spacious with a sitting/dining area occupying the central section. This leads to the well equipped, U shaped, kitchen (see amenities list) which is off to the right (open plan). There is a second, very comfortably furnished, TV/music/sitting room which is entirely separate and to the left of the sitting/dining area mentioned above. There is also a shower room on this floor.
All of the 3 bedrooms are on the first floor. Two of these have double beds and the 3rd room has twin beds. They all have access to balconies. One of the double rooms is the master bedroom and this has an en-suite bathroom (with a shower over the bath). There is another bathroom on this floor, again with a shower over the bath. (NB - there is another shower room on the ground floor). With several balconies at first floor level you are assured of a quiet spot to sit and enjoy a simply stunning view.
Magnificent views of The White Mountains and the sea can be enjoyed from almost everywhere at this villa; it is a perfect spot to wind down and relax. The terraces surrounding the fabulous infinity style pool are extensive with masses of space for everybody to spread out on a lounger or a chair. The garden is newly planted with a variety of Mediterranean trees and shrubs which will quickly become established.
1. At the edge of the plot there are a couple of steepish drops and for this reason the owners do not accept bookings from families with children aged under 7.
2. Bookings are not accepted from single sex groups at this villa.
3. Strictly a non-smoking villa.
The villa has unlimited Wi-Fi available via satellite. Full instructions on connecting are in the Information Book in the villa.

Not allowed on late availability or special offer prices.
If you are a returning client and this is your 3rd (or more) consecutive booking with Crete Escapes or your 2nd separate booking in one season, you will qualify for our loyalty discount. Please quote voucher code LOYALTY5 when asked to do so during the online booking process or let us know when you contact us. Your reduction of 5% will then be deducted from the total price.

Short breaks are allowed within 3 days of arrival.
Change-over days are totally flexible but are subject to existing bookings taken either side. If a booking means that the owner would be left with too many "void" days we might not be able to accept it. If this is the case we will contact you without delay to discuss alternatives.
Payment can be made by bank transfer (sterling or euro) or by debit or credit card.
Additional Notes - at the edge of the plot there are a couple of steepish drops and for that reason the owners do not accept bookings from groups with children aged 7 and under. Bookings are not accepted from single sex groups at this villa. Strictly a non-smoking villa.
Our travel information provides details of how to get to Crete including flights to both Chania and Heraklion airports.
If you want to book, please use the availability chart above to check your dates, you can then either book on-line, email or call us on 0330 111 0061.
Please note: although the calendars show live availability and you can book on-line, please note that your booking is not confirmed until we have issued a confirmation of booking. You may prefer not to book your flights until we have confirmed the booking.
Low occupancy discounts - unfortunately the online booking system automatically calculates the single couple or small party discount based on the number of people entered onto the booking form and the start day of your rental. There are 2 problems with this:-
a) If you are 2 people but not a single couple, or 3 or 4 people but not 2 + 1 or 2 + 2, the system will have automatically calculated a discount when it is not due. Please make use of the "additional notes" box on the booking form to tell us and we will adjust the price accordingly before we confirm your booking.
b) If your rental overlaps from a discounted period to a non-discounted one (or vice versa), the discount calculated will be wrong. In these cases we have to make the adjustment manually. You can still book on-line but we will need to change the price on receipt of your booking request. If the price increases we will contact you to confirm the new price before we confirm your booking and take your deposit.
Please don't let either of these issues put you off making a booking. The discounts are genuine and our villa owners welcome couples and smaller parties out of high season. We just can't fine tune the booking system to account for these 2 circumstances - sorry.
Wow! What a wonderful 2 weeks staying at the stunning Villa Hibiscus in a beautiful "perfect" location. We will never forget our first experience of Crete and what a great way to start......... Kokkino Chorio is gorgeous. The lovely shop has everything you need and we fell in love with the taverna at the glass workshop. Wonderful, traditional food with a very warm and friendly welcome each time we ate there. The girls also loved Elpis in Plaka and we would recommend going there on Thursday evenings for the traditional Greek dancing. Great fun for all the family. We hope to come back again as we "need" to see those incredible views while sitting by the pool just one more time. Thank you - August 2017
Many lovely hours spent in or by the pool and under the arches admiring the view and watching the sun set - August 2017
Thank you very much for a lovely stay in a gorgeous part of Crete. We highly recommend the taverna under the trees in Drapanos - scrumptious food and wonderful service. Hope you love the villa as much as we did - July 2017
Another very enjoyable holiday spent in this part of the world. The views over the bay and in particular the sunsets are spectacular - we never tired of looking at those. We enjoyed trips to Chania, Rethymnon and Lake Kournas. We will miss the sunshine and the pool ! - July 2017
We've had a lovely stay at Villa Hibiscus. The view has been wonderful. A very peaceful and relaxing holiday; we haven't had anything to worry about - June 2017
This holiday was our first visit to Crete and I am sure we will be back - a fantastic island, stunning scenery and plenty to do for all ages! Our stay in Villa Hibiscus has been superb - we have had many a hot day in the fantastic pool and have enjoyed the stunning views. During our two weeks we have been busy - Chania and Rethymnon were both beautiful, we took a great boat trip to Balos Lagoon and Gramvoussa Island and the kids enjoyed the waterpark at Limnoupolis! We have been spoilt for choice with wonderful local tavernas and we also enjoyed participating in a cookery class in Vamos! A fantastic villa and a fantastic holiday - August 2016.
We've had a lovely time in your beautiful villa, many thanks. The views and the sunsets have been superb. The restaurants are all excellent - July 2016.
We have had a fantastic time staying here in this lovely villa. The view has been hard to leave but we have ventured off to various places. Chania old town is a great day out. We had some lovely meals in Almirida but I think you can get a superb meal everywhere. Have fun - we've enjoyed our much needed break - back to the UK to jump back on the treadmill!! - July 2016.
We’ve really enjoyed staying at Villa Hibiscus, the view is fantastic - August 2015.
Just wanted to thank you for making the booking process and getting to our lovely villa a seamless and worry free procedure. Everything was clear and your lovely friendly approach has left me very impressed. The villa itself is absolutely beautiful. Our priority was to find a lovely villa with great views and a pool. Tick, tick, tick! After taking in the breathtaking scenery when we first arrived, on entering the villa, I was so pleased at how clean and well presented the villa was. We've had a fantastic family holiday here. Thank you for making everything so clear, accessible and comfortable and thanks again to the ladies at Crete Escapes for their help in arranging this - August 2015.
The villa has surpassed all of our expectations on every level - July 2015
Thank you very much. This was our first visit to Crete and we loved it! Everything went really well and we've had a fantastic time. It was exactly what we hoped for; peace, quiet, sun and views! A really beautiful "get away from it all" place with wonderful food. The villa was very comfortable and the views so incredible. It has been the special holiday we had hoped for with all the family. We would definitely recommend you and the villa to friends and might even return ourselves if we get the chance - July 2015.
We had a brilliant time at Villa Hibiscus; the villa was really wonderful. The setting was breathtaking and the facilities couldn't be faulted. We loved the area and were grateful for the tranquility of the setting. We thought Almyrida was a lovely little resort; not too busy with tourists. The Samaria Gorge walk was great! We will certainly recommend your company to others and have already told people how wonderful it was. We really miss that view! - June 2015.
We've had an absolutely perfect week, the first of our honeymoon, island hopping. We can't think of a better way to have begun our married life! We will be back! - June 2015
What a fantastic villa! Having stayed in other villas around the area this is the only one we decided to book again whilst still there! Peace and quiet are important to us whilst on holiday and we have certainly enjoyed both. We will be back in touch when we've checked flights. Many thanks for all your help during the booking and the pre trip information. all excellent - June 2015.
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Hibiscus. This was our first journey to Crete and Greece. We loved the views from the villa, including the lovely sunsets! We would love to come back to your lovely villa. Thank you." July - August 2014.
Have been on many villa holidays but none have featured as brilliantly as Villa Hibiscus. We had a fantastic time in this wonderful, well-equipped villa and on this beautiful island. We will definitely be back for a longer visit next time. We will miss Crete! but not for long as we plan to be back sooner rather than later! Thank you! - August 2014.
Crete is the most southerly Greek island with an agreeable climate. The tourist season usually starts around April and lasts until the end of October. The spring (April) is a good time to visit for hiking and to see the beautiful flowers.
In early summer (May and June) the temperatures will be climbing steadily to an average in the mid 20's. This is a good time to visit if you don't have to keep to school holiday dates as the climate is very pleasant and there are few crowds.
July and August are the busiest (and hottest) months with tourists from all over Europe choosing Crete for their holiday destination. The north westerly winds usually moderate the temperatures but it's best to make sure your holiday accommodation offers shelter from the hot sun. It goes without saying that the sea will be warm.
September is still high season with warm, sunny days and the sea is still warm. The season draws to a close in October but this is a perfect month for visiting the island as the sea is still warm for swimming and activities such as hiking and visiting the archaeological sites can be undertaken in pleasant temperatures.
