Ryanair's 2018 Flight Schedule Has Been Released!
When it comes to securing cheap flights to Crete, booking early will always be the safest bet.
The good news is that Ryanair has just released its 2018 flight schedule to Chania meaning that organised folk can now begin to plan their villa holiday for next year. Ryanair flies regularly to Crete from London Stansted as well as Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, East Midlands, Glasgow and Dublin. There are also regular flights from many other countries including Germany, France, Spain and Scandinavia.
If you are planning on travelling with family or a group of friends then booking your flights early will ensure that you can all sit together and reserve the most comfortable seats. It will also allow you to start your villa search while the best properties are still available. By planning ahead and avoiding costly peak season fares, savvy holiday makers can reserve all the more holiday budget for eating out and sightseeing!
According to a study by Expedia and the Airlines Reporting Corportation (ARC), the best flight deals tend to be between 150 and 225 in advance of International travel. As prices tend to fluctuate, the ARC suggests that smart travellers should check fares on every day of the week, with some evidence suggesting that Sundays and Tuesdays are the best for securing a good deal.
Fancy An Extended Weekend Break?
Those planning to escape to the sun for a short break will secure the greatest savings by heading out on a Thursday and returning on a Monday – avoiding the expense of travelling back on a Sunday. As the majority of our villas are within an hour's drive of the airport, a weekend break is the perfect inexpensive way to sample the delights of Crete.
Savings for Early Risers
Unsurprisingly, some of the best fares will be those that depart and arrive at unsociable hours! Perhaps best for those travelling without small children, these cheaper flights will ensure that you can either make the most of your holiday by extending your last day or arrive early in the morning to enjoy a full day of sun! Although the standard check-out time in our villas is 10am, an extension to this can sometimes be accommodated by our property managers at a discretionary charge meaning that the facilities of the villa can enjoyed later into the afternoon. This will depend on whether or not the villa is due to be occupied again later that day.
Ryanair Cabin Bag Policy Changing On 1st November 2017
Ensure you are not caught out by the latest changes to Ryanair’s cabin bag policy which will be effective from 1st November. Familiarise yourself with what you can bring onboard here and avoid a costly £50 per item charge at departure!
If you are considering a short break to Crete then be sure to utilise the full 10Kg allowance of hand luggage as well as a smaller bag that can fit under the seat in front of you. This will mean you can save money by not paying for hold luggage. If you pay for priority boarding you can take both of these cases onboard - otherwise the larger of the two bags will be taken at the gate and put in the hold.
All of our stunning villas in Crete are fully licensed properties and furnished and maintained to a high standard. Don't forget that we offer low occupancy discounts outside of peak season meaning that a larger villa and its facilities can be enjoyed at a reduced price.
