Ferry Services to Crete

We arrange your independent villa booking but we do not arrange ferries for you. This gives you the freedom to organise your own ferries to suit you.

Many ferries from the Greek mainland arrive in Crete early in the morning. When arranging your ferries, please bear in mind that the usual check in time on the day of arrival is 16.00 and the usual check out time on the day of departure is 10.00. 

The property managers/owners on Crete have the final say about the time you can arrive and depart as they have to schedule villa cleaning between guest arrivals and departures. They will have been told the expected arrival time of your ferry so if you have an early arrival time they will, as far as possible, be aiming to have the villa ready early (however we cannot guarantee that the villa will be fully serviced before 16.00. If you do arrive at the villa before 16.00 and it is still being cleaned then you are welcome to drop off your bags and go off elsewhere or sit and relax outside but please don't expect all of the villa's facilities to be available to you immediately on arrival).

For requests to check out after 10.00am on the day of departure - please speak to the property manager during your stay to see if this is possible.

Ferries from Mainland Greece to Crete -

There is a regular service from the mainland port of Piraeus (nr. Athens) to the Cretan ports of Heraklion and Chania (Souda). Ships usually depart in the evening and arrive early the following morning.

Anek Lines  operates daily services  between Piraeus, Chania, Heraklion and Rethymnon.

Minoan Lines  sails every day between Piraeus and Heraklion.
