Almirida, Kalives, Plaka, Kokkino Chorio and Gavalochori -
Almirida and Kalives are two of three (the 3rd is Georgioupolis - see below) seaside resorts to the east of Chania in an area known as the Apokoronas. Plaka, Kokkino Chorio and Gavalochori, where most of our holiday villas are located, are villages in the hills close to Almirida. This is a peaceful area which is popular with couples and families. The beaches at Almirida and Kalives are sandy with sunbeds and parasols for hire. In Almirida you can hire windsurfers or book a boat trip or a scuba diving session. Plenty of tavernas and snack bars line the beaches.

Georgioupolis
Georgioupolis is the largest of the three seaside resorts in the Apokoronas area. It is best suited to families and couples. There are plenty of bars to keep the younger ones entertained but no night clubs. There are two beaches, one long stretch on the outskirts of the village and the other a smaller beach in the centre which are both equipped with sunbeds and parasols. The central square is lined with tavernas and bars and there is a good choice of shops. There is public transport to both Chania and Rethymnon.

Vamos & Kefalas
Vamos is the main village of the Apokoronas region where life goes on Greek pace all year around. Well situated at the centre of the peninsula, there is easy access to all the surrounding villages, the beaches at Almirida (8 kms), Kalives (6kms) and Georgioupolis (10 kms) and the motorway to Chania and Rethymnon. Being the main village of the region, Vamos has full facilities including a 24 hour health centre.
Kefalas is a large, attractive village approx 4 kms to the east of Vamos with good access to the beaches in the area.
Two smaller villages, between Vamos and Kefalas, where we have villas are Xirosterni and Litsarda

Agia Marina and Stalos
Just to the west of Chania is the main tourist area of the western part of the island with well known resorts such as Agia Marina, Stalos, Platanias and Gerani that need little introduction. These resorts have everything you would associate with a typical beach holiday in the Mediterranean, beaches with facilities, tavernas, bars and plenty of shops. The further west you go the quieter and more traditional the resorts become.

Tavronitis
a small seaside resort between Maleme and Kolimbari. A quiet place where time seems to have stood still. It is typically Greek and has a beach backed by tamarisk trees. There are the usual seaside amenities on offer. If you fancy a change of scenery, you can drive over the mountains to the south coast resort of Paleohora.
Maleme – This part of Crete is dominated by citrus groves behind a quiet sand and pebble beach. Maleme has a good choice of tavernas and a fairly large supermarket.

Kolimbari
is a sleepy little resort 25 kms west of Chania with a good public transport link to the city. There is a long beach, some excellent fish tavernas, kafenion, small shops and supermarkets to cater for your needs.
Kolimbari is at the foot of the Rodopos Peninsula - which is a wild and unspoiled area with only a few villages. It is good for trekking and birdwatching.
