The Ocean Breeze Villa

General Description

Ocean Breeze Villa is a brand new, luxury villa situated in a protected area of natural beauty with spectacular sea views towards Octopus Bay. Located off a short track from a main tarmac road (leading to Octopus Bay) and in a quiet spot but ideally positioned for the glorious sandy beaches of Almyrida and Georgioupolis. Local tavernas, kafenions and well-stocked village shops can be found nearby in Kefalas and Drapanos just a short drive away.

Internally, this fully air-conditioned villa is furnished in a modern, contemporary style providing a light and airy feel with its beautiful pale stone arches and exposed wooden ceilings blending superbly with the stylish decor throughout. There are fabulous sea and mountain views from all the balconies and terraces including the very generous pool terrace which surrounds the sparkling infinity pool.

The villa is the middle one of three but the large, gated plot is very private due to the villa's position in relation to the neighbouring properties either side.

Ground Floor

As you enter the villa through the side front door the whole of the spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area welcomes you.  The large dining table with chairs to seat 6 is immediately in front of you on entering. To one side, visible through one of the beautiful stone arches, you will find the ultra modern, fully fitted, comprehensively equipped L-shaped kitchen which will provide the keen cook with a wonderful preparation and working area in which to make good use of the local produce. The lounge has two comfortable sofas with chaise longue positioned sociably around the coffee table facing the large flat screen TV which provides full entertainment for all your needs. Both the dining and lounge areas have double doors opening on to the generous pool terrace and the pool beyond. Downlighters provide sympathetic mood lighting.

Conveniently situated to the rear of the living area with its own doors to the garden and pool terrace, making the most of those glorious pool and sea views is the spacious master double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The room is comfortably furnished with a king size bed, fitted wardrobes, drawers, bedside tables, dressing table with mirror and a ceiling fan..     

A handy cloakroom with wc and wash basin completes the ground floor accommodation.

The beautiful stone staircase (with safety handrail) adjacent to the kitchen leads to the two twin bedrooms and one of the shower rooms.   

First Floor

The comfortable and well appointed twin bedrooms are located on the first floor and share the family shower room which is ideally positioned centrally between the two.  Both rooms open out on to a huge balcony with its modern glass screening which allows you to have a full on appreciation of the fantastic views across the pool and garden area to the magnificant vista beyond. There is a bistro set and comfy loungers for guests to use; a great place to relax and indulge with a chilled glass of wine whilst enjoying the peace and tranquility this area affords. 

An additional set of doors leading from the landing area provides access to this same balcony for those guests using the double bedroom downstairs; a great feature to avoid disturbing other guests using the twin rooms.    

External Areas

This large gated and stone walled plot has parking for several cars. The tiled infinity pool has a childrens section and roman steps for access making it a perfect choice for young families and guests with mobility issues. The main oblong section of the pool shelves gently so is ideal for those guests who enjoy some serious swimming.

There is a covered terrace equipped with a table and chairs to seat 6 and an an adjacent pergola covering the handy outdoor kitchen area, including a stone built BBQ; perfect for al fresco dining out of the direct rays of the sun. This spacious and level poolside area also has sunbeds and parasols for lazing by the pool whilst taking in the uninterrupted sea views. Exterior garden lighting creates a soft ambience for those who enjoy sitting outside in the comfort of their own villa on those warm barmy evenings.  

There are fantastic views from all elevations at this luxurious villa.  A perfect location for those who want peace and quiet together with easy access to local amenities. 

Internet Access

A limited internet connection is available via satellite which means the data is currently limited to 1GB per day - adequate for checking emails, social media and browsing the internet but not for streaming films and TV such as Netflix. Please note however that there is a good 4G signal at the villa allowing you to use your home data allowance using your phone as a hotspot or by bringing a mobile wifi device with you.

Holiday Rental Licence

Villa Ocean Breeze is registered with the Greek Tourist Authorities (EOT) for holiday rental purposes. Registration number 00000540749.

Chania airport - 50 mins drive. Heraklion airport - 1 hr 50  mins drive. 

Nearest Beaches -­ Almyrida - 15 min drive or Georgioupolis - 25 mins drive.

Nearest Tavernas and Shops -­ Kefalas - 25 min walk / 5 min drive or Drapanos - 30 min walk / 5 mins drive

NB; all times are approximate and based on average driving and walking speeds. Some walking and/or driving may be on unlit and unmade track roads. Please refer to the map tab to view satellite images of the area.

Booking Information

Change-over days are totally flexible but are subject to existing bookings taken either side. If a booking means that the owner would be left with too many "void" days we might not be able to accept it. If this is the case we will contact you without delay to discuss alternatives.

Payment can be made by bank transfer to our sterling account or by debit or credit card (Mastercard or Visa) only.

Please note: although the calendars show live availability and you can book on-line, please note that your booking is not confirmed until we have issued a confirmation of booking. You may prefer not to book your flights until we have confirmed the booking.   

Low occupancy discounts - unfortunately the online booking system automatically calculates the single couple discount based on the number of people entered onto the booking form and the start day of your rental. There are 2 problems with this:-

a) If you are 2 people but not a couple the system will have automatically calculated a discount when it is not due. Please make use of the "additional notes" box on the booking form to tell us and we will adjust the price accordingly before we confirm your booking.

b) If your rental overlaps from a discounted period to a non-discounted one (or vice versa), the discount calculated will be wrong. In these cases we have to make the adjustment manually. You can still book on-line but we will need to change the price on receipt of your booking request. If the price increases we will contact you to confirm the new price before we confirm your booking and take your deposit.

Please don't let either of these issues put you off making a booking. The discounts are genuine and our villa owners welcome couples and smaller parties out of high season. We just can't fine tune the booking system to account for these 2 circumstances - sorry.

Had a fantastic stay at this lovely villa. Everything you need is here. The view is stunning and couldn't ask for anything better, so peaceful and quiet but not too far from the coast when you want a meal and a stroll. This was our first visit but hope to come back again for another truly relaxing holiday - October 2022.  

This was our second visit to Ocean Breeze after coming initially in 2020 and it did not disappoint. Everything was as clean and new as before. We have absolutely loved it. The quietness, the views, the weather, you have everything here and we can't wait to come again. Next time we hope to bring the parents so they can experience what an amazing place it is too. Don't want to leave the villa. Enjoy everyone, you will go home relaxed and rested - September 2022.    

Following the pandemic and our last escape in 2019 there was only one place for our holiday this year, our beloved Crete. Late booking in June had Ocean Breeze as our top choice. We love the away from it all, up the dirt track, watch the tyres aspect of the spacious estate is lovely. Negotiating and surviving the hammock was a treat and singing with the cicadas above one evening was a real thrill. The pool is pleasant, though warn the swimmers about tumble turns in the shallow end! No tavernas in walking distance but good fayre to be found in Kefalas, Gavalochori, Vamos and Georgioupolis, as well as Almyrida. Dolmades and prawn saganaki as well as the customary Greek salad are essentials - August 2022.  

Just to let you know we had a wonderful holiday (again) at Ocean Breeze. The improvements to the path in the rear garden really made a difference – we were able to watch the sun setting in the evenings! - July 2022. 

Such a pleasure to be back at the Ocean Breeze Villa. We came for a week last year and enjoyed it so much we came for a fortnight this year. A good move nothing disappointed, in fact it is even better with a path leading through the rear garden, especially the small seated area at the far back; great for breakfast or sundowners. Really can't fault this villa, everything you need to hand and many areas outside to relax. All in all a great holiday - June 2022.

Although slightly off the beaten track we found some amazing tavernas, coves and beaches.
