Booking Information

Change-over days are totally flexible but are subject to existing bookings taken either side. If a booking means that the owner would be left with too many "void" days we might not be able to accept it. If this is the case we will contact you without delay to discuss alternatives.

Payment can be made by bank transfer (sterling or euro) or by debit or credit card.

Our travel information provides details of how to get to Crete including flights to both Chania and Heraklion airports.

If you want to book, please use the availability chart above to check your dates, you can then either book on-line, email or call us on 0330 111 0061.

Please note: although the calendars show live availability and you can book on-line, please note that your booking is not confirmed until we have issued a confirmation of booking. You may prefer not to book your flights until we have confirmed the booking.

Low occupancy discounts - unfortunately the online booking system automatically calculates the single couple or small party discount based on the number of people entered onto the booking form and the start day of your rental. There are 2 problems with this:-

a) If you are 2 people but not a single couple, or 3 or 4 people but not 2 + 1 or 2 + 2, the system will have automatically calculated a discount when it is not due. Please make use of the "additional notes" box on the booking form to tell us and we will adjust the price accordingly before we confirm your booking.

b) If your rental overlaps from a discounted period to a non-discounted one (or vice versa), the discount calculated will be wrong. In these cases we have to make the adjustment manually. You can still book on-line but we will need to change the price on receipt of your booking request. If the price increases we will contact you to confirm the new price before we confirm your booking and take your deposit.

Please don't let either of these issues put you off making a booking. The discounts are genuine and our villa owners welcome couples and smaller parties out of high season. We just can't fine tune the booking system to account for these 2 circumstances - sorry.

What’s to say…splendid, superb and the photo’s cannot do it justice. In my twenty odd years of villa holidays, on a pound for pound basis, this one comes out tops. It’s not luxury but it is character, as a home should be. Every effort has been to made to make it user friendly. It was a sublime holiday. Clean and tidy throughout and we were blissfully alone on our beautiful terrace - July 2018.

Loved Villa Tigga, the views and the privacy.  As everyone says, fantastically equipped - October 2017.

Villa Tigga, the pictures you see are what you get, which makes a nice change.  Spectacular views you could not get bored of.  The sunsets are stunning too.  The first villa we have ever stayed in with all you could ever need in the kitchen - September 2017.

Fab scenery, tours from the harbour well worth the visit. Villa well equipped - September 2017.

We certainly enjoyed our time in Villa Tigga, thank you - I'm not on Facebook (I must be the only person on the planet who isn't) but certainly we will spread the word. Weather was 'mixed' to say the least but the views are superb, the pool is huge for a private one and it was so peaceful. There were a large amount of millipedes that got into the villa, probably due to the weather, but this was fine, it's just nature. I have to say that the villa was the best equipped we have ever stayed in, everything had been thought of. It was a little remote which in a lot of ways was a blessing, however, it did make for longer journeys when visiting the sites around Crete. Overall, very pleasant and nothing to say that would improve the user experience - thanks for your help with the booking at short notice and late at night - September 2017.

Such a fantastic villa, a view that never gets boring.  Children absolutely loved the swimming pool and grounds to play in. The local beach was great with lots of restaurants and even managed some greek dancing.  Would definitely recommend and visit again - August 2017.

I would like to say how much we enjoyed staying at Villa Tigga in August it was a fabulous villa and we will certainly return in the years to come - August 2017.

Beautiful villa, very clean, loved everything about it.  Lovely welcome pack, much appreciated - August 2017.

We had a lovely time thank you. The villa was so well equipped and lots of guidance around the place. We will no doubt return as we loved the area and the stunning views - August 2017.

Fantastic villa with everything you could need.  Lovely location and lots to see and do.  A boat trip is well worth doing and Chania is beautiful - July 2017.

Amazing Villa!  The welcome pack was gratefully received and the villa was really clean and had a mid week clean too. Can't fault the villa and will miss the views and sunsets - July 2017.

I just wanted to thank you both for an amazing holiday!  The villa was exactly as per the web site and the views even better! I really appreciated all the guidance notes sent before and there was plenty of guidance whilst in the villa too.  You were both very attentive to my enquiries and always responded speedily. We all loved Crete and the area had loads to do so we will definitely be back! - July 2017

We can't think of a more fabulous introduction to Crete than a week at Villa Tigga, thank you!  Superb position and views a joy.  The garden is fantastic, good sized swimming pool and lots of lovely places to sit and enjoy - July 2017.

Fantastic villa with everything you cold wish for.  Pool and outside space wonderful with views to amuse, interest all day, thank you - June 2017.

Just a note to say what a lovely holiday we had.  The villa was lovely, the views and sunsets amazing.  The pool was a godsend in the heat!!  We will definitely be back to the area.  Thanks for all your help - August 2016.

Lovely villa, very homely and comfortable.  Spectacular views and sunsets.  First time in this area and we really enjoyed it.  Lovely meals in Almyrida and Plaka.  Ventured out to Rethymno old town which was lovely.  Went to Elafonissi, beautiful drive but too many people! Lovely beach at Kalives.  Recommend the taverna in the village (Kokkino Horio) and the one next to the glass place - excellent food.  Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again.  Thanks to Chris and Phil who were fantastic - August 2016.

Once again a lovely stay in the area.  Still found plenty to do.  Lovely evening in Chania.  We enjoyed the villa, pool and, of course, the view.  We had everything we needed and appreciated the UK sockets! - August 2016.

We've all had an amazing time here in Crete, we manageed to get out and about and loved the culture.  The villa is brilliant, the weather has been fantastic and the sunsets and views are to die for.  The boat trips from Chania are highly recommended, we loved it! PS If you look long enough you might just see 'shooting stars' - July 2016.

We had a wonderful time at Villa Tigga. The place was as great as the pictures on the website showed! The villa is comfortable and the pool is fantastic. The views are spectacular and the sunsets really special. Wish we had booked a longer stay - July 2016.

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday at Villa Tigga. Loved the little touches and the good feel about the villa inside and all around the grounds. Enjoyed the privacy, the excellent welcome pack and card and thanks to Phil for the good information he gave us about the area when we asked. Going to miss the fantastic views and will definitely be back. We want to thank you as everything was perfect - June 2016.

We have had a wonderful  holiday, the villa is beautiful, with a lovely pool.  The sea view is amazing, so many things going on from ships to yes even  a submarine - September 2015.

Echoing previous guests we too have had a fantastic stay at Villa Tigga – the pool size, space and views make this a superb holiday villa.  Thanks to the owners for equipping the villa so well, including books and DVDs - August 2015.

This was our first visit to Crete.  Villa Tigga was an excellent place to stay, well equipped, a real home from home with all the mod cons, stunning views and a great location.  We’ve had a lot of relaxation time and we hope you enjoy your holiday as much as we did. Crete Escapes were great to deal with and I would recommend them to anyone - August 2015.

We have had an amazing holiday in Villa Tigga.  The views and sunsets just stunning.   A very thoughtful welcome pack on arrival, thank you - July 2015.

Villa Tigga was the perfect base – clean, comfortable, luxurious and a great pool!  Thanks for everything - July 2015.

Another wonderful fortnight in glorious Villa Tigga.  We will never tire of this glorious wonderfully peaceful place.  It is idyllic! -  June 2015.

Hello Julie. We have just returned from Crete and wanted to drop a line to say we had a very relaxing holiday in Villa Tigga, which was much more spacious than I expected. We loved the stupendous views, the very comfortable furniture and innumerable thoughtful touches, the fantastic pool, the fabulous TV and entertainment centre, the excellent WiFi, the easy walk to the village it had absolutely everything we needed. In fact, I went to book us in again for next year only to find it already taken for the dates I wanted! Thanks for your help and I’ll be in touch again soon, no doubt - September 2014.

Just a brief note to say that we had a great time in Crete. Villa Tigga was  superb and so well equipped. I do wish beach towels had been provided but otherwise I do not think it could be improved. An excellent good sized pool. A lovely holiday which I hope we shall be able to repeat - June 2014.

Wow, wow, wow!  First visit to Crete and first villa holiday best holiday ever.  The views are amazing as are the sunsets.  Home from home, well equipped, wifi, fab a huge ‘ thank you’ to Chris and Phil (property managers) for making us feel so welcome, arrival pack a lovely first impression particularly the wine!  Will definitely be looking to return - October 2013.

Had a wonderful time here and very sorry to be leaving.  Beautiful views to wake up  every morning and so many wonderful sunsets too - September 2013.

Second visit to Villa Tigga and every bit as good as the first. Perfectly located to provide stunning views across the bay and a short drive to the lovely child friendly beach of Almerida. Villa very well equipped to ensure our stay was comfortable and peaceful. We will be back! - September 2013.

A lovely villa in a fab location. A week wasn’t long enough as we didn’t want to venture too far from the lovely pool.  However there is lots to see and do in the surrounding area and great places to eat. Thank you for the welcome pack on our late arrival.  We hope to return soon - August 2013.

Two weeks of glorious sunshine in an idyllic setting.  Thanks so much for  your welcome pack.  Love the provision of wi-fi and the new pool lights. This really is a delightful villa and we always have a lovely time here.  Special mention must go to Chris and Phil (the property managers) who do such a good job in preparing it for the new visitor - June 2013.

We echo the comments made by earlier visitors - absolutely brilliant!! Great villa with views you would need to go to the Amalfi coast to beat. The bougainvilleas are in full flower and all of this together with the continuous 30 degree dawn - dusk sunshine weather has made it all very relaxing. We arrived to an immaculately clean villa with all the little extra touches previously mentioned. We are grateful to Chris and Phil for their attention - thank you - September 2012.

A wonderful 2 weeks at Villa Tigga. Beautiful views, relaxing days both by the sea and the pool. Our 2nd visit to this part of Crete and we will certainly be back - September 2012.

Our 2nd visit to lovely Villa Tigga. We still love the beautiful views and the peaceful garden. We visited Georgioupolis and Kournas Lake which were well worth the drive along village roads. Thank you to Phil & Chris for maintaining the villa and pool to a very good standard and for the lovely welcome pack - August 2012.

What a beautiful villa with a fantastic pool, ideal size and stunning views. We spent plenty of time relaxing around the villa and making use of all the space. We enjoyed the powerboat trip from Almyrida to the caves and an evening in Chania. We also went to the water park at Limnoupolis (40 minutes) which our 2 boys loved. Not huge but enough slides and all set in a lovely park. There is also go karting right next door. Top of the list is being able to eat out right by the sea front in Almirida. Thank you for a great holiday - July 2012.

It was so good to return to Villa Tigga for our 3rd visit!! The exceptional welcome pack was very thoughtful. We have had such a fun, relaxing time. Lazy days by the pool and the thrills of the powerboat trip and snorkelling with  Dream Adventures. The villa is extremely well equipped and the view is spectacular!! We have looked forward to our return so much. Thank you for making our holiday wonderful again! - July 2012.

What a lovely villa. This is our 3rd visit to Western Crete but the 1st time in this villa. We hope it won't be the last! Great views & location. Lovely pool. What more do you need? Thank you for sharing your villa - June 2012.

Our 3rd visit to beautiful Villa Tigga. It is idyllic here and we will be back! Thanks to the owners for thinking of everything that we holidaymakers could possibly require. It has been a blissful week in glorious surroundings - June 2012.

What a beautiful villa! Perfect location for a relaxing holiday. Very well equipped. Many thanks to Phil and Christine for their helpful advice and for making our stay so comfortable - July 2011.

A beautiful villa and the attention to detail makes it feel like home. All the restaurants in Plaka are excellent and a trip over the mountains to Georgioupolis is worth a visit. The arrival pack was very helpful. Thanks very much to the owners and to Christine and Phil - July 2011.

Our 2nd visit and it was as beautiful as ever. Glorious views, a wonderful pool and every mod con. Thanks very much - we will be back - June 2011.

A honeymoon that was equally as magic as the wedding day itself, where time stood as still as the mountain views and the sea breeze toyed with the colourful Bougainvilleas. Magic and beauty combined, the perfect mix for a lasting memory - September 2010.

Peace, perfect peace - August 2010.
Wonderful views and lovely garden, second visit to Kokkino Chorio, this villa is far better than the last (NB the last one was not booked through Crete Escapes!). Well positioned and inside the villa caters well for all your needs. Air Con a bonus, outside is beautiful and spacious with plenty of sitting areas. Enjoyed the villa pool by day and sampled many good meals by evening from the large selection of local restaraunts - August 2010.

What a magnificent spot! Villa excellent with an unsurpassed view. Air Con was efficient so we could all sleep well. Little touches like the UK sockets were much appreciated. Would recommend without hesitation, we had a great time - August 2010.
I just wanted to let you know what a great holiday we had in Villa Tigga - it really made for a wonderful base from which to explore Crete and a really lovely place to just hang out in when we didn't feel like going anywhere. Thanks to you too for making it very easy to book etc. We are sure to return - June 2010.

My wife and I have just returned from a week's stay at Villa Tigga and we would like to say a huge thanks for organising this rental. We loved the villa, we loved its position and the peacefulness of its surroundings. The owner of the villa clearly has some good taste as far as the design of the villa and its fittings. We immediately felt at home there and had a lovely time. We have previously rented villas in Bermuda (three times) and Switzerland (twice) and this one was up there with the best of them. The property managers in Crete, Chris and Alan, were very helpful. We had a couple of issues on the first day and these two dealt with them in a quietly, efficient manner. They came over as the kind of people that we could trust and who would sort out any problem. If this villa is typical of other villas then we would certainly take another holiday with you, either in September 2009 or June 2010 - June 2009.

Villa Tigga WOW ! This place is fantastic. Can we please book the same weeks next year? August 2007.

Villa Tigga was abolutely stunning. We have been away with several well known villa operators in the past but have never stayed in such a lovely villa. The pool, setting, comfort etc could not have been bettered. Our daughter Ella (nearly 4) absolutely loved it. We had a great time. Thank you very much July 2007.

A wonderful & peaceful villa and what sunsets! Well appointed & very well
maintained. All in all, a great stay June 2007.

We would just like to say a big thank you for making our recent stay in Crete so enjoyable and hassle free. The villa Tigga where we stayed was fantastic, we could not fault it. The welcome pack was delicious! The sunset views over Souda Bay were exquisite May 2007.

The Climate

Crete is the most southerly Greek island with an agreeable climate. The tourist season usually starts around April and lasts until the end of October. The spring (April) is a good time to visit for hiking and to see the beautiful flowers.

In early summer (May and June) the temperatures will be climbing steadily to an average in the mid 20's. This is a good time to visit if you don't have to keep to school holiday dates as the climate is very pleasant and there are few crowds.

July and August are the busiest (and hottest) months with tourists from all over Europe choosing Crete for their holiday destination. The north westerly winds usually moderate the temperatures  but it's best to make sure your holiday accommodation offers shelter from the hot sun. It goes without saying that the sea will be warm.

September is still high season with warm, sunny days and the sea is still warm. The season draws to a close in October but this is a perfect month for visiting the island as the sea is still warm for swimming and activities such as hiking and visiting the archaeological sites can be undertaken in pleasant temperatures.
