Villa Avye is a spacious air-conditioned, contemporarily furnished, two storey villa with a private swimming pool surrounded by well equipped sun bathing terraces. The villa has been built to maximise the stunning views of the White Mountains and the Bay around Georgioupolis which is spread out below.
You enter the villa at first floor level, into the living areas and go down to the bedrooms on the ground floor. Note that the pool is conveniently situated on the same level as the kitchen and living areas.
The open plan first floor is where you will find a fully equipped kitchen separated from the modern living and dining areas by a full length breakfast bar. For those times when you don't wish to eat or lounge outside, the dining table and fabulous leather sofa have plenty of space for 6. For your entertainment there is a music system and TV receiving satellite broadcasts (not SKY) and a DVD player. Completing the first floor accommodation is a shower room with shower, wc and washbasin. An extensive private balcony leads off the lounge area; an ideal spot for sitting and watching the sun go down.
On the ground floor there are three bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with 2 single beds and a third bedroom with a day bed which can be used either as a single or as a double (there are two single beds with one sliding out from beneath the other), as shown in the photos; we suggest this room is best suited to 1 adult or 2 children. The bedrooms all have storage space with fitted wardrobes and drawers and are finished with contemporary wall art, ornaments and lamps. The rooms with the double bed and the 2 singles each have private balconies with fabulous views. A modern wet room with shower, wc and washbasin is also situated on this floor.
The exterior of the Villa Avye reflects the same modern taste of the interior. The large tiled swimming pool is on the higher of the two private sun terraces, ie on the same level as the living areas. The pool area has been furnished with stylish outdoor furniture including sun umbrellas and sun loungers. Stairs lead to another very private terrace which is partly open to the sun and partly shaded by a pergola covered in a blue and white lattice material.
If you tire of spending days around the pool, the little resort of Georgioupolis awaits with its choice of shops and tavernas. For those who do not want to drive, Georgioupolis is a pleasant walk downhill and once there you will find plenty of taxis to bring you back to the villa if you don’t fancy the return walk. There are also a couple of handy tavernas within two minutes walk of the villa.
Wifi internet access is provided by fixed telephone line. There are no download or upload limits.

Low Occupancy Discounts
A low occupancy discount for single couples (use of 1 bedroom), of 15%, is available at this villa except for July and August dates.
Not allowed on late availability or special offer prices.
If you are a returning client and this is your 3rd (or more) consecutive booking with Crete Escapes or your 2nd separate booking in one season, you will qualify for our loyalty discount. Please quote voucher code LOYALTY5 when asked to do so during the online booking process or let us know when you contact us. Your reduction of 5% will then be deducted from the total price.
Short breaks are normally only available for a minimum of 5 nights and will be charged at the 7 nightly rate unless otherwise advertised. However, if the number of available days between existing bookings is less than 7 nights we may be able to accept bookings at a reduced rate subject to the owners agreement.
Short breaks are allowed within 3 days of arrival.
Change-over days are totally flexible but are subject to existing bookings taken either side. If a booking means that the owner would be left with too many "void" days we might not be able to accept it. If this is the case we will contact you without delay to discuss alternatives.
Payment can be made by bank transfer (sterling or euro) or by debit or credit card.
Our travel information provides details of how to get to Crete including flights to both Chania and Heraklion airports.
If you want to book, please use the availability chart above to check your dates, you can then either book on-line, email or call us on 0330 111 0061.
Please note: although the calendars show live availability and you can book on-line, please note that your booking is not confirmed until we have issued a confirmation of booking. You may prefer not to book your flights until we have confirmed the booking.
Low Occupancy Discounts - unfortunately the online booking system automatically calculates the single couple or small party discount based on the number of people entered onto the booking form and the start day of your rental. There are 2 problems with this:-
a) If you are 2 people but not a single couple, or 3 or 4 people but not 2 + 1 or 2 + 2, the system will have automatically calculated a discount when it is not due. Please make use of the "additional notes" box on the booking form to tell us and we will adjust the price accordingly before we confirm your booking.
b) If your rental overlaps from a discounted period to a non-discounted one (or vice versa), the discount calculated will be wrong. In these cases we have to make the adjustment manually. You can still book on-line but we will need to change the price on receipt of your booking request. If the price increases we will contact you to confirm the new price before we confirm your booking and take your deposit.
Please don't let either of these issues put you off making a booking. The discounts are genuine and our villa owners welcome couples and smaller parties out of high season. We just can't fine tune the booking system to account for these 2 circumstances - sorry.
Just a quick line to say how much we enjoyed our recent holiday at Villa Avye. The villa was beautiful and the view over the bay and Georgioupolis was stunning. Our three grandsons loved the pool and spent hours in the water. We all enjoyed the holiday immensely and would like to thank you for your all your help and advice before we went - August 2017
We had a great time the villa was great. It was as good as last time, the view, the location and the privacy. Nigel who cleaned the pool and villa was also a nice chap and very thorough. I have recommended the villa to one of my colleagues at work - June 2016.
Many thanks indeed, we had a superb time in Crete and so many thanks indeed for all of your help. Special thanks to the couple who managed the Villa - Sept 2015.
Just a quick message to tell you we loved our stay at Villa Avye. the villa is a credit to the owners, well furnished, equipped, great location and kept much cleaner than many villas we have rented in the past. Missing the view already............- June 2012.
We all thought that Villa Avye in Exopoli was fantastic. So spacious, so well equipped, so tastefully furnished and with such a wonderful view, situation and pool. It got our holiday off to the very best of starts and only served to deepen our love of Crete. We would love to rent the villa again at some point in the future. Thanks once again - August 2009.
A lovely view and excellent quality accommodation. We couldn't have stumbled across a better base from which to explore Chania, Almerida and the mountains. My second time in Western Crete and I loved it. Thanks again - June 2009.
Best view I've seen since Table Mountain! Quiet but convenient for everywhere - May/June 2009.
2nd visit and the views are as fantastic as we remembered. Lovely situation and the pool was a blessing - August 2008.
The villa and the view is fantastic. We travelled around a bit and everywhere we went was lovely. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend Villa Avye July 2008.
Fab holiday great villa and views June 2008.
Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday lots of interesting places to visit. Villa and situation fabulous May 2008.
We had a wonderful time here it was our honeymoon October 2007.
We had a lovely stay at Villa Avye this year and are considering going back next year, Can you tell me if it is available for 2 or possibly 3 weeks from Tuesday 5th August 2008. Thank you August 2007.
Just a quick note to say what a wonderful relaxing holdiay we had at Villa Avye. The villa was perfect and we miss the views so much. We could have stayed for at least another couple of weeks!!.Everything was as described and Georgioupolis was just exactly as we wished, not a busy busy place but with just enough buzz about it to still retain its Cretan flavour. We would love to go back to Crete sometime in the future maybe in April or May so we may be in touch again July 2007.
Great Villa, fantastic views, everything there we could want. Party ages ranged from 85 to 19 and all seemed content. Georgioupolis is very pleasant and although we don’t have small kids - its great for them too with a safe sandy beach. We drove a bit further for the snorkelling as sand isn’t really our thing. We have never been to this area of Crete before and although it is touristy, it has charm and we found that it was a good starting point for further exploration. Plenty of good tavernas too and we even found that Titos made an attempt at a sort of club for the university students in our party who like things livelier than us JJ Aug 2006.
Crete is the most southerly Greek island with an agreeable climate. The tourist season usually starts around April and lasts until the end of October. The spring (April) is a good time to visit for hiking and to see the beautiful flowers.
In early summer (May and June) the temperatures will be climbing steadily to an average in the mid 20's. This is a good time to visit if you don't have to keep to school holiday dates as the climate is very pleasant and there are few crowds.
July and August are the busiest (and hottest) months with tourists from all over Europe choosing Crete for their holiday destination. The north westerly winds usually moderate the temperatures but it's best to make sure your holiday accommodation offers shelter from the hot sun. It goes without saying that the sea will be warm.
September is still high season with warm, sunny days and the sea is still warm. The season draws to a close in October but this is a perfect month for visiting the island as the sea is still warm for swimming and activities such as hiking and visiting the archaeological sites can be undertaken in pleasant temperatures.
