Villa Thio Koritsia

General Description

Villa Thio Koritsia is a luxury villa with stunning sea views towards Almyrida and across Souda Bay to the Akrotiri peninsula. The emphasis is on the outdoor space with generous terraces surrounding the infinity pool. Inside, the villa is very stylish with exposed wooden ceilings which blend well with the pale stone that was used to build the villa and the neutral colour scheme used throughout for the fixtures and fittings. Located in a quiet but not remote position, down a lane leading off the village square in Kokkino Chorio, the villa faces west, giving guests the pleasure of spectacular views of the setting sun from the various balconies and verandahs.

Ground Floor

The airy, light, ground floor is open plan with a fully fitted kitchen (see amenities list), dining area to seat 6 and comfortable lounge with satellite TV (not Sky) and dvd player. Two sets of patio doors allow you to make the most of those glorious sea views from inside the villa. The covered patio outside runs the whole length of the villa. One of the 3, well furnished, en-suite bedrooms is on this floor. This is a double bedded room with an en-suite shower room. Completing the ground floor accommodation is a guest cloakroom with wc and wash basin.

First Floor

The two remaining bedrooms are on the first floor. Both with en-suite shower rooms. One has a double bed and the other twin beds. Both bedrooms are furnished with plenty of hanging and drawer storage space. Each bedroom has patio doors leading to its own furnished balcony with sea views.

External Areas

The plot is gated and there is parking for several cars. The beautiful, tiled, infinity pool and terraces around the pool have uninterrupted sea views. The slightly raised patio immediately outside the lounge/diner is covered and perfect for al fresco dining with easy access to the kitchen and the BBQ area. A wrought iron staircase leads from one of the 1st floor balconies to the roof terrace which is a favourtite spot for private sunbathing. A Mediterranean garden of shrubs, wild flowers and herbs is nicely established.

The internet is unlimited provided via satellite.   Full instructions on connecting etc are in the Villa Information Book in the villa.

Villa Thio Koritsia is licensed for holiday rentals with the Greek Tourist Authorities (EOT). Licence number 1042K92030117901.

General

Chania airport -­ 45 mins drive. Heraklion airport  - 2 hrs drive.

Nearest Beaches -­ Almyrida - 10 mins drive or Kalives - 17 min drive.

Nearest Tavernas and Shops -­ Kokkino Chorio - 12 mins walk / 4 min drive or Plaka - 25 min walk / 5 min drive.

NB; all times are approximate and based on average driving and walking speeds. Some walking and/or driving may be on unlit and unmade track roads. Please refer to the map tab to view satellite images of the area.

Booking Information

Change-over days are totally flexible but are subject to existing bookings taken either side. If a booking means that the owner would be left with too many "void" days we might not be able to accept it. If this is the case we will contact you without delay to discuss alternatives.

Payment can be made by bank transfer to our sterling account or by debit or credit card (Mastercard or Visa) only.

Please note: although the calendars show live availability and you can book on-line, please note that your booking is not confirmed until we have issued a confirmation of booking. You may prefer not to book your flights until we have confirmed the booking.

Low occupancy discounts - unfortunately the online booking system automatically calculates the single couple or small party discount based on the number of people entered onto the booking form and the start day of your rental. There are 2 problems with this:-

a) If you are 2 people but not a single couple, or 3 or 4 people but not 2 + 1 or 2 + 2, the system will have automatically calculated a discount when it is not due. Please make use of the "additional notes" box on the booking form to tell us and we will adjust the price accordingly before we confirm your booking.

b) If your rental overlaps from a discounted period to a non-discounted one (or vice versa), the discount calculated will be wrong. In these cases we have to make the adjustment manually. You can still book on-line but we will need to change the price on receipt of your booking request. If the price increases we will contact you to confirm the new price before we confirm your booking and take your deposit.

Please don't let either of these issues put you off making a booking. The discounts are genuine and our villa owners welcome couples and smaller parties out of high season. We just can't fine tune the booking system to account for these 2 circumstances - sorry.

We would just like to thank Crete Escapes for our recent lovely relaxing 10 days holiday at Villa Thio Koritsia. Inspite of the extra form filling and testing it was more than worth it. The villa was probably the best we have ever stayed in - certainly the stunning views and pool couldn't have been better.  The villa cleanliness and covid precautions were reassuring and with covid numbers so low in Crete we felt very safe - more so than on any holiday in the UK at the moment. And going to an amber country meant empty airports and half empty planes and no queues. Getting a lateral flow test to come back was also easy. But most of all we would like to thank you for your help, patience and advice. We are very aware that as a travel company you must be going through a terrible time. When we booked the holiday last year none of us thought we would still be in such uncertain times. We had three flight cancellations, had to keep slipping our dates to accommodate new flights and different airports, were unsure what to do waiting on the government's changing traffic light system. In all of that you were always understanding and helpful and we are very grateful and hope we will be booking another holiday to Crete with you in the not too distant future - June 2021.

The villa, location, view were amazing. The villa was clean and well serviced. Beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was very welcomed in the bedrooms. We never tired of the views especially watching the sun set - August 2018.

What can we say - we have had the most fabulous holiday in Crete! The villa was absolutely stunning and far exceeded our, already high from the beautiful pictures, expectations. Dear Jan, I wanted to write and thank both Crete Escapes, the villa owners and cleaners for the most fantastic holiday at the Villa Thio Koritsia. We were so busy enjoying ourselves that we forgot to write in the visitors book! The villa was stunning, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We were in Crete for a family wedding and the location was perfect, just a short drive from the venue in Kalyves and the family home in Plaka. Being slightly higher up, we enjoyed more of a breeze by the pool than our friends found at their villa in Almiryda, which was lovely in the summer heat. The village Taverna serves great traditional Greek  food and they were so welcoming. The bedrooms were comfortable and it was lovely that each had its own access to the garden. It was great that there were books and dvds to use during our stay. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and family.  Thank you and kindest regards - September 2013.

Hi Jan, I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help and advice whilst booking our recent trip to Crete. The information you gave us - directions, restaurants and places to visit was so helpful. Directions were excellent and we had no problems finding the villa. As for Villa Thio Koritsia, it was beautiful and the views were stunning, we could not fault anything. We had a fabulous 10 days with 3 teenagers who loved relaxing by the pool.
