We offer a unique opportunity to stay in this traditional Cretan village in beautiful villas and houses owned by a hospitable local Greek family.

The owner, Papantonis, is a great character and he and his family will ensure that you have a perfect stay at their villas. They offer their guests one complimentary traditional meal during their stay.

A stay in Astratigos will provide the basis for a holiday of total peace and relaxation, nestling between Afrata and Rodopos, Astratigos is about 30kms west of Chania. Whilst there are no tavernas or shops in Astratigos, there are four tavernas in Afrata and three in Rodopos, each about 20 to 25 minutes walk from the villas.

The nearest beach is at Afrata where you will find a delightful little cove with a pebble beach and crystal clear water perfect for swimming and snorkelling. There is a small cantina on the beach serving good food and cold drinks. There are plenty of other beaches to be explored only a short drive away.

Villa Theodoros is over 100 years old; it was renovated to a high standard a few years ago and now exudes masses of atmosphere through its thick stone walls. The single storey villa can sleep up to 4 in 1 x double room, 1 x single room and 1 x Cretan bed (with wooden slats, suitable for a child) in the lounge area. The villa has been furnished in a traditional style whilst providing most modern conveniences including air-conditioning. The open plan lounge area leads to the kitchen/diner up a few steps. There is a hallway at the other end of the kitchen opening up to the bathroom and bedrooms. Villa Theodoros shares a pool and garden with Villa Olga and a BBQ with Villa Giorgios which is next door. Villa Giorgios has its own pool.

Villa Theodoros is normally rented by the week, from Tuesday to Tuesday to fit in with the majority of flights from the UK to both Chania and Heraklion airports - see our flights page. Some flexibility in arrival/departure days is possible at this villa (depending on other bookings).

Prices quoted are in gbp sterling, per week, for up to 4 people occupying the villa and are not per person.

Prices include all linen except for beach and pool towels, a welcome pack and twice weekly maid service. There are NO hidden extras.

We will confirm the availability and send you a booking form; at the same time we will put the villa on hold for you for 48 hours to give you time to book your flights and complete the booking formalities. NB - we would advise you not to book your flights until we have confirmed that we are holding the villa for you.
