The smaller resorts of Maleme and Gerani are a few minutes drive from the house and the lively resort of Platanias, where you will find an extensive choice of shops, tavernas, bars and supermarkets is 10 minutes drive away. The beautiful Venetian harbour town of Chania where you can spend many hours exploring the alleyways of the old town is about 23kms and easily reached by car (or bus from the main road about 4 minutes drive from the house). 

Villa Daskalakis 1 is one of two villas that have been built to a very high standard, by the Daskalakis family who live nearby. Eleni and Tasos, who speak English, are on hand to assist you during your stay. For the 2010 season, only Villa Daskalakis 1 will be rented as the other villa, whilst built, is not fully finished for rental. Clients renting Villa Daskalakis 1 can therefore be assured of privacy, peace and quiet. Please note that the immediate access to the plot is via a short, fairly steep driveway of approx 10m.

The villa has been built to maximise the beautiful views with the pool and lawned garden area situated to the rear of the villa with the sea in the distance. Entering the villa from the car parking area at the front brings you into the large, fully equipped (see amenities list) open plan kitchen/diner with a dining table and 6 chairs. There is a useful utility room with ironing facilities and a large bath/shower room off the dining area. The archway leads through to the lounge with sofas (including a sofa bed) and full entertainment facilities (see amenities list). French doors open up to the covered, ground floor terrace overlooking the pool and garden.

All of the well furnished bedrooms are on the 1st floor; there are 2 x double rooms and 1 room with 2 x single beds. All bedrooms have access to an open terrace/balcony, one of which overlooks the pool and garden and has sea views. Another, large bath/shower room is situated on this floor.

Outside you can relax by the pool which is surrounded by sun bathing terraces and lawned garden. In the evenings enjoy a BBQ and watch the incredible sunsets that this part of Crete is renowned for.

Villa Daskalakis 1 is normally rented by the week, from Tuesday to Tuesday to fit in with the majority of flights from the UK to both Chania and Heraklion airports - see our flights page. Some flexibility in arrival/departure days is possible at this villa (depending on other bookings).

Prices quoted are in gbp sterling, per week, for up to 6 people occupying the house and are not per person. For each additional person using the sofa bed (max 2 additional persons) there is a charge of £50 per week. Prices include air- conditioning, all linen including beach and pool towels, a welcome pack and twice weekly maid service (linen change once a week). There are NO hidden extras.

We will confirm the availability and send you a booking form; at the same time we will put the villa on hold for you for 48 hours to give you time to book your flights and complete the booking formalities.
