The villa is air-conditioned throughout and centrally heated which makes it a good choice for early or late season holidays when the evenings may turn cool and some heating may be required.

The open plan ground floor is fitted with an immaculate luxury kitchen (see amenities list) at one end with large glass doors opening up to the BBQ terrace and fabulous views of the mountains. Large double size glass doors at the far end of the lounge /diner open up to the pool terrace with sea views. The kitchen is linked to the lounge/diner by an entrance hall with the stairs to the first floor leading off. There is a ground floor utility room equipped with a wc, wash basin and washing machine. The lounge/diner is very spacious with a good sized marble topped dining table and 6 chairs. Full entertainment facilities are provided with a 32” LCD wide screen TV with satellite connection (not sky), integrated surround sound DVD and CD system that allows iPods to be connected (and charged) so you can listen to your favourite music or use those provided. USB devices connect to play media files.

All of the 3 (1 x double + 2 x twin) en-suite bedrooms are on the first floor and all have superb views of the mountains or the sea. The two bedrooms at the front of the villa have views right across Almirida Bay, views that can even be enjoyed without getting out of bed. Both of these rooms have sliding glass doors on to a spacious, furnished balcony that enjoys the same views as the bedrooms. The twin bedded rooms have Danish style single beds which can be locked together to form a king size or separated as required. All rooms have wardrobe and drawer storage space, 100% cotton bed linen and plump micro fibre anti allergy pillows are supplied on all the beds for your comfort.

There is a 2nd floor terrace and furnished den, both of which are accessed by an external staircase starting just outside a door on the first floor landing. The double sofa bed in the den can sleep up to 2 thus allowing the villa to sleep a total of 8 people. The den accomodation will ideally suit families holidaying with teenagers who want their own space. There is clothes storage in the den but note that bathroom facilities are on the ground floor. Prices quoted are for 6 persons. Each additional person using the sofa bed is charged at the rate of £50 per person per week.

Outside there is plenty of space for everybody to spread out in comfort, be that on one of the numerous terraces or balconies around the villa which extend to some 100m2, or around the pool. There are 2 outdoor tables with 12 dining chairs for dining al fresco, 12 sun loungers and 6 comfortable chairs for reading or lounging. The BBQ area with table and dining chairs is conveniently situated on the terrace leading directly off the kitchen.

The villa has been completed and furnished in a very modern relaxed style making it very easy to unwind and leave your stresses behind.

Internet Access

The villa has internet provided over Wi-Fi which can be used from most laptops, PDAs and other Wi-Fi enabled devices. The service is delivered via mobile broadband with a download speed between 200Kbps and 400Kbps.  This speed allows internet browsing, email, online chat and Voice over Internet which the owner has used to enable him to work from the villa. Full instructions to access the service are provided in the villa handbook.

The service has a weekly download allowance of 1.25Gb per week which is more than sufficient for normal usage (similar UK packages offer 1Gb per month.), included in the rental price. In the unlikely event that you require more download volumes this would be chargeable at €20 per Gb above the 1.25Gb limit. Many of the tavernas in Almerida provide free internet access (some even loaning a laptop as well) so you can always download larger files, DVDs and music tracks there if you need to.

Villa Kournedes is normally rented by the week, from Tuesday to Tuesday to fit in with the majority of flights from the UK to both Chania and Heraklion airports - see our flights page. Some flexibility in arrival/departure days is possible at this villa (depending on other bookings).

Prices quoted are in gbp sterling, per week, for up to 6 people occupying the villa and are not per person. The villa can sleep up to 8 with 2 people using the double sofa bed available; each person using the sofa bed is charged at the rate of £50 per week. Prices include air- conditioning, all linen including beach/ pool towels and adult bathrobes, a welcome pack, twice weekly maid service with linen change (NB not pool towels or bathrobes). There are NO hidden extras.

We will confirm the availability and send you a booking form; at the same time we will put the villa on hold for you for 48 hours to give you time to book your flights and complete the booking formalities.
