We're home again safe and sound after a simply marvellous 2 weeks at House Papoura. It was all as we expected - and more; just perfect. Everything went smoothly, many thanks to your extremely efficient organisation. I can't thank you enough for making the arrangements so simple and helping to make the final result so perfect - October 2008.

House Papoura was everything we hoped for and more. The facilities are 5* and the varieties of outdoor living space tremendous. Morning tea on the upper terrace, breakfast under the mulberry tree and evening meal on the lower terrace - bliss! Together with the warmth of the welcome and the spectacular views, where else would you rather be? This is our 4th visit to Crete and the best yet - September 2008.

I think Crete is brilliant. I have really enjoyed our stay at House Papoura. There is a brilliant glass bottom boat trip in Chania called Captain  Nick's, it's wonderful for snorkelling with the fish. The oldest olive tree in the world was enormous (4.6m in diameter), Limnoupolis water park is worth a visit, it has brilliant slides. I will be very very very sad to leave all these brilliant things behind - Rory aged 11 - August 2008.

This is our second holiday at House Papoura and hopefully not the last. We have stayed in many villas in Crete and this surely has the greatest views and most tranquil setting. There have been some glorious sunsets that we have enjoyed over a pre dinner drink on the balcony - August 2008.

A very big thank you to Dimitris and Vassilios for their hospitality. House Papoura was a wonderful base for a relaxing holiday with its superb views, spacious exterior and the oasis of the pool! We felt very honoured when Dimitris took us to a festival in a local village - July 2008.

Loved House Papoura, the views, the space, the verandahs, the character, the breezes through the house, the table under the mulberry tree where we ate all our meals. Dimitri was a very affable host and we absolutely adored his olive oil and the bottle he gave us to take home. I am a very keen cook so that was really appreciated – July 2007.

Really sad to be leaving this beautiful house on this lovely island. We've had a very happy 2 weeks and would like to thank Dimitris and Billy for the hospitality and welcome. We really enjoyed the views from the pool and terraces and will miss it very much – August/ September 2006

The first moment we saw the beautiful villa, we fell in love with it. We really enjoyed dining in the shade of the tree. We had a great time in this nice house. We spent lots of time listening to the sound of the grasshoppers and the cicadas; the walks through the olive gardens were very relaxing. the breezes and the swimming pool brought nice refreshment from the sun. We feel very lucky that we did not stay in Platanias but in this peaceful oasis; we searched for heaven and we found it here – July 2006.

I believe we are the first Americans to stay in Dimitri's beautiful house on the hill. We are so glad we discovered it and have enjoyed every minute of our visit, especially the beautiful sunsets from the terrace and the typical Greek charm of the place. We will miss this special place in Crete! – September 2005

Dimitris is a wonderful host offering friendly advice and information about the local area. The pool is a major asset for the house, offering a cool retreat from the midday sun. Journeys from here are easy to all western areas. 2 supermarkets in Maleme serve all your needs for supplies – July 2005

What a holiday! Whether is was jumping in the car and visiting places and seeing things or simply staying put, enjoying the house and the pool, and looking at that wonderful view; it's definitely a view you can never tire of.
